Argentina's Antonella Falcione made history in July 2013 by becoming the first Argentinean player to win a WSA title at the Tasmanian Open. In fact, it was the first time an Argentinean player has reached a WSA final.
Falcione was delighted with her victory and put it down to focus, "This is my first WSA title and of course, it is really special for me. I started to play the tour last year, and I discovered a new world in squash, where things are much more difficult, harder rivals, but wins more rewarding! Last week in Melbourne I didn't have a good tournament, but in Tasmania I could focus and control my mind, to play point by point, and it worked! I played with really good players in the tournament, and beating them helps my confidence to improve and convince myself that with hard working I can reach my objectives. I want to say thanks to all the people that support me, especially Allianz, Maximiliano Lenz and my coaches Diego De Bella and Sarah Fitzgerald"
