  • Biography

At the age of just nineteen, Emily Whitlock already has an enviable wealth of experience on the WSA World Tour.  An array of Junior Championship titles including European Junior Champion and two time British Junior Open Champion have already been put in the shadow by some excellent results on the professional tour.  Whitlock finished runner-up in the Wimbledon Cup and Le Sport Open in 2011, as well as achieving a quarter-final place in the Monte Carlo Classic as an unseeded player.

She won three back-to-back titles earlier this year to cement her standing in the world’s top 30, and have her unequivocally earmarked as a ‘one to watch’ by many at England Squash & Racketball.  She finished runner-up to experienced Line Hansen in August’s Black Knight Open in Australia before reaching the second round of the Australian Open Gold event after beating No.13 seed Jaclyn Hawkes.

The young Englishwoman ended 2012 in exceptional form with back-to-back titles in the Madison Open in the USA, followed by success in her home event, the Colwyn Bay Classic in December.

Her good form has continued into 2013 as she added a third title in three events at the Edinburgh Open in January. She reached the semi final of the Cannon Kirk Irish Open in April and although she lost in the first round at the Texas Open and the Allam British Open, she pushed seeds Natalie Grinham and Alison Waters all the way.
