  • Biography

Sarah-Jane Perry is the newest member of the World’s Top 20. The 23 year old had a successful junior career, highlighted by winning the European and British U19 titles in 2009. Perry is also a two time British Under 23 Champion.

Perry had her first breakthrough 2011, winning the Tour 5 Manor Open beating Tania Bailey in the final for her first WSA title.

2012 was a breakthrough year for Perry, collecting a further three titles and establishing herself as one to watch out for. She reached the main draw of the British Open as an unseeded qualifier and followed this by reaching the final at the Chennai Open, then winning titles at the Ile-Rouse International in Corsica, the Pyramid International in New York and the Abierto Mexicano de Raquetas in Mexico City. Perry finished the year by reaching the main draw of the World Championships for the first time and moved up from 65 to 29 from January to December.

So far 2013 has turned out to be just as good as 2012 for Perry. She reached the semi final of the Meadwood Pharmacy Open and followed this with her 5th WSA title at the Delaware Open. Another semi final finish at the Courtcare Open was followed by back to back titles at the Mayfair Open and Granite Open in Canada. In May Perry’s good form and new place in the top 20 saw her get the call up to the England Senior Team for the European Team Championships. At the Allam British Open, Perry beat world number six Wee Wern Low to reach the second round.
