Biography
A highly successful
2007 saw Camille first finish runner-up in the Swiss Open, before further
promising finishes in the Wolverhampton Open, Icelandair Group Classic and
London Open, paved the way for the first WSA World Tour title in the Santiago
Open in November. She later won the WSA
Young Player of the Year award.
2008 saw her win the
European Junior U19 Championship for the second year running, as well as adding
the British Junior U19 Open to her haul.
She won the Santiago Open again to double her WSA title tally, but it
was 2009 that proved to be Camille’s breakthrough year, going from outside the
top 40 to finish the year at 13. In 2009 she won the Creteil International
Open, Swiss Open and Alexandria Sporting Club Open, as well as placing
respectably in some higher-level events towards the end of a year that would
see her crowned WSA Most Improved Player of the Year.
In 2011 she added her
third French National title, before embarking on another impressively steady
season, winning the Des Pyramides Open, before reaching a career-high of 7 in
the world in September.
Positive finishes in
2012 for the Frenchwoman include a quarter-final appearance in the British Open
as well as reaching the semi-final of the Des Pyramides Open on home soil. A storming
end to the year saw Camille finish runner-up in the Hong Kong Open as 11th
seed, booking herself qualification to the World Series Finals event in January.
The second half of 2013 was strong for Camille, as she
reached the semi final of the CIMB Malaysian Open and followed this up with
three stunning upsets to make the Carol Weymuller Open final. In October she
won her 8th WSA title at the Monte Carlo Classic beating Laura
Massaro in the final. December’s ranking saw Serme reach a career high of
number five.
Camille continued this good form into 2014 where
she started the year by reaching the Tournament of Champions semi-final and the
semi-final of the Windy City Open. She was edged in five games in the World
Championship quarter final in Penang by Nicol David.
